More homes. Better infrastructure. Transit you can count on.

I know what it takes to focus on what matters most, pay attention to the details, and listen to residents. Here is how I plan to continue working with you to build a responsive and affordable Kitchener.

  Building More Housing

Waterloo Region needs more homes people can actually afford, including affordable housing, supportive housing, and emergency shelter options. Delays to major Regional housing projects have slowed progress at a time when more people are struggling to find stable housing. We need to build faster, use public land more effectively, and work with trusted community partners to deliver the housing our growing Region needs.

  • Expand eviction prevention and portable rent supplements to help people stay housed and reduce pressure on emergency shelters and homelessness services
  • Commit to Waterloo Region Housing Revitalization and secure funding partnerships to deliver hundreds of new affordable homes over the next four years
  • Use Regionally-owned land and buildings, including sites like the former Charles Street Transit Terminal, to support permanently affordable housing and strong mixed-income communities
  • Expand supportive housing options with access to health, addictions, and social services, while recognizing the need for shelter of last resort

  Infrastructure That Endures

The infrastructure that we rely on everyday, like roads and water systems, need to be reliable and ready for a growing Region. The challenges we faced in early 2026 made it clear that we cannot afford to fall behind on critical infrastructure investments.

As a member of Regional Council, I have supported practical investments and solutions to address water capacity challenges. Investing early in repairs and long-term infrastructure planning will reduce costs over time and deliver the reliable services residents expect with consistency and care.

  • Address water capacity constraints by investing in the infrastructure our Region needs and completing the Water Supply Strategy to secure our long-term drinking water future
  • Prioritize road, trail, and pothole repairs through faster maintenance schedules and consistent investments in preventative infrastructure renewal

  Transit You Can Count On

Waterloo Region’s transit system should be frequent, affordable, and reliable. Investments in Grand River Transit will give us all more choice in how we move around our community, making transit a first choice across Kitchener, not a last resort.

  • Create a Transit Advisory Committee that includes riders and community members to ensure transit users have a voice in service changes and fare decisions
  • Expand fast and frequent bus service through more bus lanes and traffic signal priority for buses
  • Keep Stage 2 Light Rail Transit moving forward while planning responsibly for future rapid transit expansion

  Safe School Zones

Every kid should be able to get to school safely. Busy Regional roads should not put students and families at risk. I will support annual investments in safer school zones so more families can walk or roll with confidence.

  • Upgrade roundabouts near schools with raised crosswalks and flashing pedestrian signals
  • Redesign roads near schools to slow traffic and improve safety at crossings and intersections

  Value for Every Dollar

You deserve to see results for every tax dollar you pay. Waterloo Region is growing, and local government is being asked to deliver more housing, infrastructure, emergency services, and climate resilience while other governments continue to offload responsibilities onto municipalities. Smart investments today can reduce costs tomorrow. By focusing growth in existing neighbourhoods and maintaining the infrastructure we already rely on, we can deliver better services while protecting long-term financial stability.

  • Push for fairer share of Provincial and Federal funding so local taxpayers are not left carrying more of the burden alone
  • Focus growth where infrastructure already exists to reduce long-term costs and avoid expensive outward expansion
  • Deliver responsible budgets that prioritize reliable infrastructure, emergency services, housing, and the everyday services residents count on

The Right Response When You Need It

Everyone deserves to feel safe in their community. Residents should be able to count on the right response from the right professionals at the right time. Public safety works best when emergency services, healthcare, and community supports work together to respond effectively and address root causes.

  • Expand access to Community Paramedicine programs that help patients receive care at home, reduce unnecessary 911 calls, and allow emergency services to focus on urgent emergencies
  • Develop community-based alternative response pilot for mental health and addiction-related emergency calls by partnering with local care providers and frontline organizations

  Getting the Basics Right

Regional government should deliver reliable everyday services that people can count on. For too long, growing demands and delayed investments have stretched basic services thin. From snow clearing to waste collection, residents deserve responsive service and clear accountability.

  • Improve snow clearing at transit stops, sidewalks, and major streets through faster response times and stronger service standards
  • Push for reliable and convenient recycling collection including future cart rollouts and stronger accountability from the new recycling collection provider to help extend the life of our landfill
