I met with CUPE5191, the union representing Paramedics in Waterloo Region, to discuss how Regional Council can improve paramedic retention and mental health supports, and continue advocating for new hospital resources. We can’t normalize ‘code reds’, where no ambulances are available to respond to emergenices. This happens far to often and the Paramedics union has been raising the alarm.
I will prioritize the reliable delivery of core public services in the 2023 Budget — we should strive to eliminate code reds and make sure our paramedics have the resources they need to take care of us!
Just had a coffee with @mattjrodrigues Matt is very interested in, and supportive of #paramedics. It was nice to have a chat with a candidate that cares about real issues, like #codered advanced polls are open. Vote accordingly.
